Students read "The Guest" by Albert Camus on pages 1246-1257 of the literature textbook.

Students then completed the Thinking Through the Literature and the Vocabulary in Action on pages 1258-1259. All assignments not completed in class should be completed for homework.

Final Exam for English II will be Thursday, December 14, 2006.

Read the poems on pages 1182-1185 of the Literature Textbook and complete the Thinking Through the Literature on page 1186.

Complete the Wordskills workbook Unit 12 pages 130-135.

Friday, December 8, 2006

Students will read Modern and Contemporary Literature 1900-present on pages 1096-1106.
Students will then write and discuss how the eras studied have influenced modern and contemporary literature.
Students will read "The Jay" by Yasunari Kawabata on pages 1174-1179. Then students will complete Thinking Through the Literature page 1180.

Students read "A Problem" on pages 1000-1005. Students will complete Thinking Through on page 1006 and Context Clues on page 1007.
Complete Wordskills Workbook Unit 11 page 119-120.

Students compared and contrasted Romanticism and Realism (three paragraphs).
Student then read "A Piece of String" by Guy de Maupassant on pages 946-951, and completed Thinking Through on page 952. Ms. Postell was out sick.

Students wrote essays to practice writing processes in preparation for the FCAT Writes. The writing assignment is listed below:

People have different qualities that are important to them.

Directions for Writing

Think about the personal quality that is most important to you.

Write to explain if being popular, accomplishing things, or being organized is most important to you and why you chose that quality.

Students used the remainder of class time to work on their research projects. These projects are due Tuesday, December 5, 2006.
